In addition to regular Art and Music lessons, clubs include:
Held on a Monday afternoon, Art club is an opportunity for children to explore different topics and produce different types of artwork. Sketching, painting, paper mache, outdoor work and projects.
In addition to Music lessons, children are invited to attend instrumental lessons and Choir. Regular tea concerts are held to allow the children to perform in front of an audience and practice grade pieces.
Our peripatetic music staff offer lessons in Piano, Violin, Flute, Trumpet, Clarinet, Cello and Drumming. Also guitar and singing if requested. Lessons run 40 minutes per week on a rolling timetable to ensure children do not miss class time.
All children in Year 4 learn to play the recorder and this time gives time to practice and play together.
All children are invited to join the choir. Our Infant choir meets on Tuesday and Junior choir on Thursday. We have had great success in recent years winning the COE shield and performing at Fairfield Halls in addition to carol singing locally.
Drama plays a big part in the life of the school. The children prepare and perform in a series of assemblies and productions. Most recently, a Roman assembly by Year 3 saw the history of Remus and Romulus. Our Year 5 performs a passion play at Easter and Year 6 have a special leavers play with a Shakespearian theme.
Speech and Drama form part of the curriculum and pupils work towards English Speaking Board examinations and the Beckenham Festival.
